Under the proposed rules, applicants will need to apply for their program to be recognized as a board-approved training program. ![]() You will still be required to apply for the registration and pay the registration fee. If you are a licensed cosmetologist or aesthetician before October 29, 2023, you will not have to show proof of education as your licensure will qualify you for that. ![]() The Board currently requires individuals who are doing eyelash extensions to hold a cosmetology or aesthetics license. This process typically takes six months.Ĭurrent Licensed Aestheticians and Cosmetologists who do Eyelash ExtensionsĪny person who satisfactorily demonstrates training received prior to the effective date of this enactment shall be eligible for registration. We are now working with the Secretary of State’s office and the Governor's Regulatory Review Committee to finalize the specific details of the statute. The statute goes into effect on October 30, however, the statute gives the Board the responsibility to define the details related to both the eyelash technician registration and the board-approved training. On April 3, 2023, Governor Hobbs signed into law HB 2550 which adds a new registration for eyelash technicians. ![]()
